Jets F Kane out until February
Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) – The Winnipeg Jets will have to do without forward Evander Kane until at least February.
Jets head coach Paul Maurice announced that the 23-year-old has suffered a lower-body injury. Kane was hurt when blocking a shot late in Saturday’s 4-3 OT win against the Minnesota Wild and did not take part in a practice session on Monday, according to the Free Press.
In anticipation of Kane’s absence, the Jets recalled forward Patrice Cormier from St. John’s of the American Hockey League on Sunday for his third stint with the big club this season.
Kane has posted just six goals and nine assists in 26 games this year.
