Jay-Z Releases New Song for New Daughter

Jay-Z and Beyonce have had their golden child, or rather their Blue child as they welcomed Blue Ivy Carter into the world on Saturday, January 7. Rumors have abounded and Blue’s already making all kinds of headlines for herself and, she’s got a new song out too. Just two days after the birth, Jay-Z took the time to sit down and pen a new song for his newborn daughter. The song, titled Glory feat. BIC, gives us the first look at the vocals of Blue Ivy, as well as an inside look at the life of Jay-Z and Beyonce.

In the song Jay-Z talks about his life and how he “[wreaked] havoc on the world,” but now is “[getting] ready for part 2.” He also talks about a past pregnancy and how “last time the miscarriage was so tragic.” In that verse he also touches on the fear that he and Beyonce both had for this pregnancy, saying that it ended in “magic.” But even with such a personal touch on the song, that’s not the part that has people really talking about the newest release from Hov.

The really hot topic from this song comes at the very end, where for about the last ten or twenty seconds you can hear the featured guest on the album — little baby Blue herself, crying with those little lungs that are going to hit the charts one day. To hear Jay-Z, and his new baby girl, listen to Glory feat. BIC here.

Early Tuesday morning, Baby Blue was taken home by her parents under the highest “military-like” security.
