Islanders place Visnovsky, Carkner on IR
Uniondale, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – The New York Islanders placed defensemen Lubomir Visnovsky and Matt Carkner on injured reserve as part of the club’s final roster shaping on Tuesday.
Visnovsky’s (back) move is retroactive to Sept. 29 and Carkner’s (back) is retroactive to Sept. 22.
The Isles had placed defenseman Calvin DeHaan and forward Michael Grabner on IR one day prior.
New York also assigned forward Anders Lee and defenseman Ryan Pulock to Bridgeport of the American Hockey League.
