Islanders’ Martin suspended one game
New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – New York Islanders forward Matt Martin was suspended one game, without pay, by the NHL for a kneeing incident in Tuesday’s game against Dallas.
Martin was assessed a major penalty and a game misconduct just 1:48 into the contest after he kneed Stars defenseman Trevor Daley.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Martin will forfeit $5,376.34. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
