Indians sign Morgan to minor league deal
Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) – The Cleveland Indians have signed outfielder Nyjer Morgan to a minor league contract with an invite to spring training.
Morgan played in Japan last season and batted .294 with 11 homers and 50 runs batted in for Yokohama.
The 33-year-old veteran is a career .280 hitter with 11 homers and 130 RBI in 583 games with Pittsburgh, Washington and Milwaukee from 2007-12. He was second in the National League with 42 stolen bases for the Pirates and Nationals in 2009.
