Indians acquire Shuck from Angels

Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) – The Cleveland Indians have acquired outfielder J.B. Shuck from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in exchange for cash considerations.

The 27-year old native of Galion, Ohio hit just .167 with two home runs and nine RBI in 22 games with the Angels this season. In 102 games at Triple-A Salt Lake, he hit .320 with five home runs and 57 RBI.

Shuck spent the entire 2013 season with the Angels, hitting .293 with two home runs and 39 RBI in 129 games.

The Indians also activated outfielder David Murphy from the 15-day disabled list and recalled infielder Justin Sellers from Triple-A Columbus.

Murphy has been on the DL with a strained right oblique since Aug. 10, batting .262 on the year with 21 doubles, seven homers and 55 RBI in 109 games.

Sellers has appeared in seven games with Cleveland this season.
