Hurricanes place Dwyer on IR
Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) – The Carolina Hurricanes placed forward Patrick Dwyer on injured reserve Wednesday, retroactive to Oct. 11.
Dwyer suffered an undisclosed lower-body injury during Saturday night’s loss to the New York Islanders.
To fill the roster spot, Carolina recalled forward Brody Sutter from Charlotte of the American Hockey League. The Hurricanes’ seventh-round pick in 2011 recorded eight goals and 20 assists in 69 games for the Checkers last season.
Carolina has lost each of its first three games of the season, including a 4-3 defeat to the Sabres in a shootout on Tuesday.
