Hurricanes, Hainsey agree to 3-year pact
Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) – The Carolina Hurricanes agreed to terms on a three-year contract with defenseman Ron Hainsey on Tuesday.
His new contract is worth $3 million for the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons, then $2.5 million in 2016-17.
On a one-year deal during his first season with the ‘Canes, Hainsey totaled four goals and 11 assists, along with 124 blocked shots while participating in all 82 regular-season games.
Selected 13th overall by the Canadiens in the 2000 NHL draft, Hainsey has posted 38 goals and 169 assists in 673 career games with Montreal, Columbus, Atlanta/Winnipeg and Carolina.
