Hornets’ Jefferson out at least four weeks
Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) – Charlotte Hornets center Al Jefferson will be sidelined at least four weeks due to a strain of an adductor muscle in his left groin.
Jefferson underwent an MRI on Tuesday, which confirmed he would be out an extended period of time.
In 32 games this season, Jefferson leads the Hornets in scoring at 18.0 points per game and also in rebounding (8.2 rpg).
The loss of Jefferson is considered a big blow to a team already in last place in the Southeast Division at 10-22.
Bismack Biyombo is expected to replace Jefferson at the center spot. Biyombo is averaging 3.4 points and 5.2 rebounds in 25 games.
