Hernandez retains IBF cruiserweight title
Bamberg, Germany (Sports Network) – Yoan Pablo Hernandez retained his IBF cruiserweight title on Saturday night with a knockout of Alexander Alekseev.
Hernandez (28-1) earned his 14th career victory by the KO after sending his opponent to the canvas for the final time in the 10th round. The win came just over two months after the 28-year-old Cuban defended his crown with a unanimous decision over Troy Ross.
Alekseev (24-3-1), 32, earned a shot at the title after a 12-round unanimous decision against Garrett Wilson in Romania back in February.
