Heavy rain forces Shadwell Turf Mile onto main track
Lexington, KY (SportsNetwork.com) – Heavy rain during Saturday’s Keeneland race card has caused the track to shift the $750,000 Shadwell Turf Mile from the grass course to the main track.
The Shadwell will be conducted at 1 1/16 miles on the main track which is synthetic and remains fast even with rain.
Horse of the Year Wise Dan, who won last year’s Shadwell Turf Mile, is the 2-5 morning-line favorite and is expected to start on the main track. The race has an approximate post-time of 5:30 p.m. (ET).
