Hand surgery sidelines Kreider indefinitely
New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider will be sidelined indefinitely after having surgery on his left hand Friday.
Kreider injured the hand on March 21 in a 3-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. He tried to play through the pain, but missed Wednesday’s win over Philadelphia before it was decided the surgery was needed.
The 22-year-old Massachusetts native has totaled 17 goals and 20 assists over 66 games in his first full NHL campaign. He also leads the team with a plus-14 rating.
