Hampton to play 12-game schedule in Maynor’s debut
Hampton, VA (Sports Network) – Hampton University will play six home games as part of a 12-game schedule announced Wednesday for coach Connell Maynor’s first season.
Hampton will host William & Mary (Sept. 6) and Miles (Sept. 20) in non- conference games, and South Carolina State (Sept. 27), Norfolk State (Oct. 18, “Battle of the Bay” rivalry), Morgan State (Nov. 1, Homecoming) and Bethune- Cookman (Nov. 15) as part of its Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference schedule.
The Pirates also will play six road games, beginning with their season opener Aug. 30 at Old Dominion.
The Pirates went 4-4 in the MEAC and 4-8 overall this past season.
Maynor was hired on Dec. 17 as the 20th head coach in Hampton history after he served the last four seasons as Winston-Salem State’s head coach.
