Habs add Weaver from Florida

Montreal, QC (SportsNetwork.com) – The Montreal Canadiens have acquired defenseman Mike Weaver from the Florida Panthers in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Weaver has six assists in 55 games this season, adding 101 hits with 94 blocked shots.

The 35-year-old veteran has compiled seven goals and 79 assists for 86 points in 585 NHL games with Atlanta, Los Angeles, Vancouver, St. Louis and Florida.
