Guns N’ Roses Go on American Tour, First in 5 Years!

They haven’t toured in 5 years and they haven’t released an album in 3; but now, Guns N’ Roses are going on an American tour this fall. But are only 5 stops after 5 years enough for fans? That’s one of the burning questions that’s been asked after the tour announcement. And another one is, will (and when) will Axl take the stage?

During their last tour, Axl Rose, the band’s front man, notoriously showed up late to concerts, sometimes keeping fans waiting for hours on end. He was also known for getting into fights with promoters of the shows; fights that would ultimately end up with the Guns’ show being cut short, again making fans pay the price. Perhaps the band sees this as a chance for redemption and an opportunity to get back into good graces?

It will be interesting to see what kind of performance the band puts on during this tour. Late or not, the band has always been known for putting on a great show when they want to. The band will kick off the tour by closing out the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil on October 2 and from there they’ll perform 10 South American stops. The first American stop will be in Orlando, Florida on October 28. From there they’ll travel to Miami, Kansas, Minneapolis, and Chicago. With only 5 American stops, one can only hope that more tour dates will be added.

Fans can expect to see Axl take the stage with Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman on the keyboards; DJ Ashba, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, and Richard Fortus on guitars; Tommy Stinson on bass; and Frank Ferrer on drums. Maybe the new additions to the lineup will bring some stability to the show, and for the fans.
