Grizzlies land Stokes in draft-day trade
Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – The Memphis Grizzlies acquired the draft rights to Tennessee forward Jarnell Stokes on Thursday night in a trade with the Utah Jazz.
The Jazz took Stokes with the fifth pick in the second round, No. 35 overall, and dealt him to the Grizzlies for a second-round pick in 2016, the teams announced.
Stokes, who is from Memphis, averaged 13.0 points and 9.6 rebounds in three seasons for the Volunteers.
