Giants place KR Cox on IR
East Rutherford, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) – The New York Giants placed kick returner Michael Cox on injured reserve because of a fractured leg.
Cox was hurt late in Sunday’s game against Seattle after catching a pass on the Giants’ final offensive series. He averaged a team-best 23.7 yards on 11 kickoff returns and saw limited snaps on offense, rushing for 33 yards on four carries while adding two receptions for nine yards.
The Giants filled the roster spot by signing running back Orleans Darkwa off the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad.
Darkwa appeared in four games for the Dolphins earlier this season, playing mostly on special teams. He had three catches for 31 yards in a Week 2 game against Buffalo and added four carries for two yards two weeks later against Oakland.
Miami waived the Tulane product on Oct. 6 and signed him to the practice squad two days later.
The Giants also made a practice squad move, releasing safety Kyle Sebetic and signing cornerback Josh Victorian.
