Get Tickets to the NBA Playoffs in 2012
We’re sure glad the NBA is back because this past season was amazing! And it promises to get better as the season comes to a close. Thus far, we’ve seen some great rivalries, some amazing comebacks, some bizarre mishaps and some tremendous competition.
We’ve also had some casualties in the first round of the Playoffs. We saw Miami Heat eliminate the New York Knicks, along with some decisive victories from the Spurs (prevailing over Jazz), and the 76ers defeating the Bulls. Thunder clobbered the Mavericks, while the Lakers just barely snuck by the Nuggets, and the Pacers finished off Magic. The Clippers and the Celtics barely surpassed the Grizzlies and the Hawks.
In the conference semi-finals we have seen the Spurs prevail over the Clippers and the Celtics rise over the 76ers. We have also seen more great feats from Thunder, as they clobbered the Lakers. Miami Heat also improved upon their game by defeating the Pacers. Thus far, the conference semifinals have seen Thunder barely edge out the Spurs, while Miami Heat and the Celtics are stalled as of June 4, 2012.
The three teams most NBA fans are talking about are the San Antonio Spurs, who had a great season earlier, winning 20 games in a row, but who are now teetering thanks to some massive defeats by Thunder. Miami is still in contention, and they can only benefit from the likely reemergence of Chris Bosh. The real dark horse of the mix–and yet not that far-fetched all in all, is that of Oklahoma City Thunder. This team had it rough in the postseason, but they held on thanks to some great performances by James Harden, Kevin Durant, and Russell Westbrook. They also upset some great teams over the last few weeks. And yes, the Boston Celtics are still in contention, though they’re not exactly anyone’s odds-on-favorite.
Thus far, betting odds are in favor of Miami, if only because they have history on their side. (Miami won the championship back in 2006) Thunder has actually won before, but it was way back in 1979. What do you think? Could they go all the way this year and bring a great victory to Oklahoma City?
