If you are a hockey lover in New Jersey, then you are likely a huge fan of the Jersey Devils. Based out of Newark, the hockey team is a part of the Metropolitan Division in the Eastern Conference. One of the interesting things about the Devils that only true fans know is that the club did not start in Jersey. Back in 1974, they started at the Kansas City Scouts in Missouri. It was not until 1982 that they moved to Jersey and adopted their current name.

When they first started, and even for the first five years in New Jersey, the team had many problems. They did not make the playoffs. In fact, they didn’t even rank higher than number five in their division at that time. Those early years were tough, but times changed in the latter part of the 80s through today. The club has been in the playoffs most years between 1988 and 2013. They actually had thirteen playoff appearances in a row. They made it to the finals five times, and they have three Stanley Cup wins to show for it.

Fans already know the Devils have some major rivalries with teams that are in the area. They have some intensely competitive games with the Philadelphia Flyers. They also have quite the rivalry with the New York Rangers, which are just across the river from them.

If you are a hockey fan, you know that watching the games on television is only half the fun. You get to see the game, but you don’t get the full effect of being there live with all of the other fans. Whether you are only buying a ticket for a single game or you want to buy tickets for the season, you won’t regret it. The Jersey Devils are a fun and dynamic team to watch. While they’ve always been known for their defensive approach to the game, they’ve been adding some explosive offence in recent years. Get some tickets today so you and your friends and family can enjoy the new season with the Jersey Devils.
