Get Ready for the NFL Conference Championship Weekend!
Who will be going to the Super Bowl? Of course that’s the biggest question everyone is asking this week as we prepare for the AFC and the NFC conference championship — and it’s gonna’ be a good one! This week the NFL brings us a rematch between the Ravens and the Patriots, and a chance for the Falcons to prove that they really are just that good. What will happen? We take some guesses at that in this week’s preview.
Baltimore Ravens at New England Patriots
The Ravens blew everyone away last week when they knocked the Denver Broncos out of the Super Bowl running; and in fine fashion too, bringing the “Flacco Fling” to the league. Previously thought to be running on nothing but emotion, the Ravens have been able to prove that’s just not true. They are stacked up on offense with Flacco, Ray Rice, and Torrey Smith; and they’ve proven that these are the guys who can get a job done when need be. They’ll also have working for them the emotion of Ray Lewis’ retirement, and a rematch of a game that they should have won last year. Will that be enough to stand up against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots? We don’t think so. But at least we know that it will be one heck of a game to watch!
San Francisco 49ers at Atlanta Falcons
The 49ers have an unstoppable running game, and the Falcons continue to have trouble against teams that have a good ground game. Last week Kaepernick gave people reason to believe he’ll soon be an elite quarterback, with an NFL record 181 rushing yards in last week’s game alone. Pair that with running back Frank Gore, and Atlanta’s going to have some problems – mostly because their defense is lacking. The Falcons are going to have to keep their eyes on both Kaepernick and Gore and most importantly, force them to throw the ball. That most likely still won’t be enough to give Atlanta the win; but it’s sure going to be fun to watch them try!
