Gaga Surprises Again by Going Jazz!

Lady Gaga is known for her surprising and shocking ways, so no one should be too astonished that she’s done it once again. No, she’s not being carried around in an egg this time, nor is she dressed in a meat costume. Instead, all she’s doing is singing. Only this time, it’s jazz not pop that she’s out to conquer.

The concept for Gaga isn’t all that new. In fact, the inspiration comes from the duet she did with Tony Bennett for his “Duets II” album that came out last year. Wanting even more, it was actually Gaga’s idea to team up with the legendary singer to make an entire album celebrating this genre of music.

“Of all things, she called me from New Zealand and said, ‘I want to do a jazz album with you,'” Tony Bennett told Rolling Stone magazine. “And I said ‘You got it!’ So that’s one of the things we’re gonna’ do.”

And do it up right they will! Aside from the fabulous voices of Gaga and Bennett, the album will also feature the Marion Evans big swing band to punctuate those soulful notes with all the jumps and jives any jazz fan could ask for. But the two icons aren’t giving anything away. There’s also going to be a huge composer working on the album. One “that’s very underrated, very famous,” according to Bennett — but he still won’t spill on who it is.

There’s no word yet on when the album will be out, but Bennett is very excited to get going on it as soon as possible.
