Lexington, KY (SportsNetwork.com) – A full field of 14 3-year-olds is expected to go postward in Saturday’s 1 1/8-mile, $750,000 Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland.

Casiguapo, trained by Mario Morales, had a three-furlong workout at Keeneland. The colt, with earnings of $287,655, went the three furlongs in 34 4/5 seconds under rider Hector Salazar.

Asserting Bear, trained by Reade Baker, worked a half-mile in 48 seconds with jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson.

“I was very happy with that. I think he enjoys the change of scenery up here,” Wilson said. “I worked him a few times in Florida at Palm Beach Downs for Mr. (Reade) Baker. That was on dirt. He loved it out there today (on the Polytrack) and traveled well over it.”

Coltimus Prime worked five furlongs in 1:01 1/5 with jockey Melanie Pinto in from Fort Erie in Canada.

“I was happy with it and he seemed comfortable on it,” Trainer Justin Nixon said. “I caught him galloping out in 1:14 and 2 and ‘Mel’ was happy with it. He had a good work at Palm Beach Downs last week and didn’t have to do much today.

“The Queen’s Plate (July 6 at Woodbine) is the ultimate goal. I’d like to win this. Staying on the synthetics down the road has been the plan.”

Horses under consideration for the Toyota Blue Grass are Bobby’s Kitten, Casiguapo, Asserting Bear, Dance With Fate, Vinceremos, Harry’s Holiday, Extrasexyhippzster, Coastline, Mr Speaker, So Lonesome, Gala Award, Big Bazinga, Scotland (possible), Pablo Del Monte, Danza, Coltimus Prime and Divine Oath.
