Flames’ Raymond lands on IR
Calgary, AB (SportsNetwork.com) – The Calgary Flames have placed forward Mason Raymond on injured reserve due to a shoulder issue, the team announced Tuesday.
In addition, forward David Jones was activated from IR and is expected to play in Calgary’s home game against Montreal on Tuesday.
Raymond, who signed a three-year contract with the Flames in July, had gotten his first season in Calgary off to a strong start. The veteran recorded a hat trick at Edmonton on Oct. 9 in his second game as a Flame, and his five goals through 10 contests is tied for the team lead.
The team has listed Raymond as week-to-week.
Jones had sat out Calgary’s last eight games after sustaining a lower-body injury in the aforementioned matchup at Edmonton. The 30-year-old was also limited to just 48 games by medical reasons last season, with Jones amassing nine goals and 17 points over that stretch.
