New Orleans, LA (SportsNetwork.com) – Risen Star Stakes entrant J S Bach will be scratched from Saturday’s $400,000 event at Fair Grounds after the colt came down with a fever Wednesday.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, J S Bach was the 5-1 co-third pick for the 1 1/16- mile Risen Star and drew post 4 in the 10-horse field of 3-year-olds. The colt won for the first time last month at Gulfstream Park after finishing second at the track in December.

Owned and bred by Donald Dizney, J S Bach was originally entered to run on President’s Day at Oaklawn Park in the Southwest Stakes. When the stakes was postponed to the weekend, Pletcher dropped the colt’s name into the box for the Risen Star.
