Feng up to No. 5 in world rankings
Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) – Shanshan Feng rallied to win the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia by three shots on Sunday and that win propelled her up to No. 5 in the world rankings.
Feng, who now has four victories on the LPGA Tour, finished the week at 18- under-par 266 following a final-round, 8-under 63.
The top four players in the world remained the same. Stacy Lewis stayed put at No. 1, as did Inbee Park, Lydia Ko and Suzann Pettersen at Nos. 2 through 4. With Feng jumping four spots to No. 5, Karrie Webb fell one spot to No. 6. So Yeon Ryu held strong at No. 7, while Michelle Wie dropped two to No. 8 and Lexi Thompson fell one to No. 9.
Hyo-Joo Kim and Anna Nordqvist traded spots, with Kim moving up to 10. Cristie Kerr stood her ground at No. 12, while Na Yeon Choi jumped to 13 and Azahara Munoz dropped back one to No. 14.
Sun Ju Ahn vaulted three spots to No. 15, meaning Paula Creamer and Lizette Salas both fell one and they are Nos. 16 and 17, respectively. Mirim Lee and Ha Na Jang are now 18 and 19 after jumping one spot each. Angela Stanford just stayed inside the top 20 after dropping three to No. 20.
