Etulain wins by 2 in Panama
Rio Hato, Panama (SportsNetwork.com) – Julian Etulain closed with a 3-under 69 on Sunday and won the Panama Classic by two strokes.
Etulain, who won for the second time on the PGA Tour Latinoamerica, finished at 17-under-par 271 at Buenaventura Golf Club.
The Argentine had seven pars and two birdies on the front nine, and both were on the par-5s, Nos. 4 and 9. Etulain birdied No. 13 and the par-5 16th to move to 18-under.
Etulain stumbled to a bogey at the last, but that just trimmed his winning margin from three to two shots.
Gato Zarlenga posted a 4-under 68 and took second place at minus-15. Jhared Hack (66) and Puma Dominguez (70) shared third place at 14-under 274, while Tyler McCumber closed with a 69 to end alone in fifth at minus-12.
