Enjoy the Popular ABBA Loving Musical Mamma Mia!

Finding the perfect musical that is appealing from a story perspective and a music perspective is not always easy, but when you are dealing with a phenomenon as large and pervasive as Mamma Mia!, you know you will be seeing a winner. If you haven’t heard of the musical, then you are missing out on something that’s quite spectacular. At its heart, the story is about a girl’s search for her father, whom she does not know. She wants him to walk her down the aisle. The girl, Sophie, discovers that one of three different men could be her father. Writing under the guise of her mother, she invites each of the men to the wedding, believing she can figure out which one might be her dad.

The story is good, but what makes it even more appealing is the fact that all of the songs in the production are ABBA songs! Two of the original members of ABBA, Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Anderson, allowed their music to be in the production and were involved from the start.

It even went from stage to screen with a movie adaptation starring Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, and Pierce Brosnan. Anyone who doesn’t know if the musical would be a good fit to see live might want to check out the movie first. Of course, that’s by no means necessary. The production value of the musical, the wonderful songs that should bring back quite a few fond memories, and the performances of the cast are all reasons to make this musical a part of your must see list.

You can hear all of your favorite ABBA songs, from the titular “Mamma Mia!” to “Dancing Queen”. Whether you are a huge fan of the group or not, there’s a very good chance you know many of their songs.
