Elon set for 2014 CAA Football debut
Elon, NC (SportsNetwork.com) – Elon University will host the University of New Hampshire is its inaugural CAA Football game next year.
Elon announced its first CAA schedule on Tuesday. The Phoenix, 2-7 this season, are finishing up their final school year as a Southern Conference member.
Elon’s full schedule will be announced in February, but coach Jason Swepson’s team will play New Hampshire on Oct. 4 in its CAA opener. The Phoenix will play their eight-game conference schedule over consecutive Saturdays, wrapping up at James Madison on Nov. 22.
The Phoenix’s CAA schedule: Oct. 4, New Hampshire; Oct. 11, at Delaware; Oct. 18, Stony Brook; Oct. 25, Richmond; Nov. 1, at Towson; Nov. 8, at William & Mary; Nov. 15, Maine; and Nov. 22, at James Madison.
In 2014, Elon will not face CAA members Albany, Rhode Island or Villanova.
