Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) – Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles suffered an MCL sprain in his left knee during Sunday night’s 27-0 win over the New York Giants.

Sproles injured the knee late in the third quarter when his left leg was bent backward while he was pinned to the ground.

“He’s got an MCL sprain so we’ll see how long it’ll be. Could be a week or two,” Eagles coach Chip Kelly said during Monday’s press conference. “I wasn’t as concerned as some other people were.”

Philadelphia has a bye in Week 7, then follows with a visit to Arizona.

Sproles has rushed for 211 yards and three touchdowns this season to go along with a punt return for a touchdown. He leads the NFL in punt return yardage and has averaged 15.6 yards per return.

The Eagles acquired Sproles during the offseason from the New Orleans Saints in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick.
