Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – The Anaheim Ducks have sent five-time All- Star Dany Heatley to its American Hockey League affiliate in Norfolk after the struggling veteran successfully cleared waivers.

The Ducks had waived Heatley, who has played in just six games this season and failed to record a point in any of them, on Monday.

Heatley signed a one-year, $1 million contract with Anaheim in July after spending the previous three seasons with the Minnesota Wild. The 33-year-old is coming off a disappointing 2013-14 campaign as well, managing just 12 goals and 28 points along with a minus-18 rating in 76 games.

The 2002 Calder Trophy recipient posted back-to-back 50-goal seasons with Ottawa in 2005-06 and 2006-07, then had at least 39 goals in each of the next three seasons — two with the Senators and the last with the San Jose Sharks.
