Dodgers place Perez on DL
Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – The Los Angeles Dodgers placed reliever Chris Perez on the 15-day disabled list on Monday.
Perez has been dealing with bone spurs in his right ankle. Since the All-Star break, the right-hander has allowed five runs in 5 2/3 innings.
The Dodgers also selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Carlos Frias from Triple-A Albuquerque. Frias has gone 10-5 with a 4.58 ERA in 21 games (20 starts) between Double-A Chattanooga and Albuquerque this year.
To make room on the 40-man roster, Los Angeles moved pitcher Paul Maholm to the 60-day DL. Maholm tore the ACL in his right knee during Friday’s game against the Chicago Cubs.
