Devils place Elias on IR

Newark, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) – The New Jersey Devils placed forward Patrik Elias on injured reserve with a groin injury prior to Tuesday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Elias re-injured his groin during the club’s 4-1 loss to Washington on Saturday.

The 38-year-old veteran has tallied three goals and 12 points over 26 games this season, his 19th with the Devils.

New Jersey recalled forward Reid Boucher from Albany (AHL) to fill Elias’ spot in the lineup.
