Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Dan Haren exercised his $10 million contract option to return to the team for the 2015 season on Thursday.

Haren, who underwent surgery to clean out the AC joint in his non-throwing shoulder last Wednesday, put together a respectable first season in Los Angeles after signing with the team as a free agent in November.

The 34-year-old made 32 starts and produced a 13-11 record with a 4.02 earned run average, though he was not used in the Dodgers’ National League Division Series loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Dodgers expect the veteran hurler to be recovered in time for spring training.
