Cubs place Strop on DL
Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) – The Chicago Cubs placed pitcher Pedro Strop on the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday with a left groin strain.
The 28-year-old Strop is 0-2 with one save and a 4.97 earned run average over 15 games out of the bullpen for the Cubs.
To take his spot on the roster, the team recalled pitcher Zac Rosscup from Triple-A Iowa.
Rosscup will be making his third appearance with the Cubs this season, having pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings over two relief appearances earlier this season.
