Cubs place Ruggiano on DL
Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) – The Chicago Cubs placed outfielder Justin Ruggiano on the 15-day disabled list Thursday due to a left hamstring strain.
Ruggiano suffered the injury during Wednesday’s 7-5 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks. He was hurt while trying to make a catch in the ninth inning.
For the season, Ruggiano is batting .229 with one home run and six RBI.
The Cubs also recalled left-handed pitcher Zac Rosscup and right-handed pitcher Neil Ramirez from Triple-A Iowa and optioned right-handed pitcher Blake Parker to Iowa.
