Cowboys OL Smith highlights NFC Players of the Week
New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Dallas Cowboys star left tackle Tyron Smith claimed the NFC Offensive Player of the Week Award for Week 6.
Smith was the leader of an offensive line that helped Dallas rack up 401 total yards of offense in a shocking win over the Seahawks in Seattle. He is the first offensive lineman to receive player of the week honors since Brian Waters won it while with Kansas City in 2004.
Detroit Lions defensive end Ezekiel Ansah took home the defensive award after he recorded 2 1/2 sacks, five tackles and a forced fumble in the Lions’ 17-3 win at Minnesota.
Arizona Cardinals kicker Chandler Catanzaro won the special teams award after making kicks from 33, 49 and 37 yards in the Cardinals’ 30-20 win over Washington. He is 14-of-14 on field goals for the season.
