Irving, TX (SportsNetwork.com) – Dallas Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne has a torn patellar tendon and will need surgery, coach Jason Garrett said Monday.

Claiborne, the No. 6 overall pick in 2012 out of LSU, suffered the injury in Sunday night’s game against New Orleans.

He had seven tackles and an interception in four games this season, with three starts.

News of his injury came six days after Claiborne reportedly stormed out of the team’s training facility after being told he lost his starting job to Orlando Scandrick, according to ESPN.com.
