Cornish, pair of Ticats named CFL’s best

Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) – Calgary Stampeders running back Jon Cornish was named the offensive and Canadian player of the week on Tuesday.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats linebacker Taylor Reed and return man Terrell Sinkfield were also honored for Week 12 of the CFL season.

Cornish rushed for a season-high 174 yards on 11 carries, including a 79-yard touchdown, and caught the game-winning 25-yard score in Calgary’s 40-33 win over Toronto.

Reed led a strong defensive effort by Hamilton in a 28-3 win over Saskatchewan, registering seven tackles and a sack.

Sinkfield, in his first game as a Ticat, returned a punt 57 yards for a touchdown to earn the special teams award. He finished with 151 yards on 12 punt returns.
