El Paso, TX (SportsNetwork.com) – Brett Hundley’s 86-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter highlighted the 17th-ranked UCLA Bruins’ 42-12 victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies in the Sun Bowl. Hundley carried the ball 10 times for 161 yards and two scores for the Bruins (10-3), who won 10 games for the first time since 2005. The sophomore quarterback also completed 16- of-27 passes for 226 yards and two touchdowns. Virginia Tech senior quarterback Logan Thomas took a hard hit from UCLA linebacker Jordan Zumwalt early in the second quarter and did not return to the game. Thomas completed 3-of-11 passes for 46 yards before exiting. Mark Leal took over under center and connected on 12-of-25 passes for 130 yards and two interceptions for the Hokies (8-5), who made their 21st straight bowl appearance.

Shreveport, LA (SportsNetwork.com) – Ka’Deem Carey carried the ball 27 times for 169 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Arizona Wildcats to a 42-19 thrashing of the Boston College Eagles in the Advocare V100 Bowl. The game featured two of the top running backs in the country, with Boston College’s Andre Williams rushing for 75 yards and a score on 26 carries. Carey’s performance on Tuesday made him Arizona’s all-time all-purpose yards leader. B.J. Denker completed 17-of-24 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns for the Wildcats (8-5), who made their fifth bowl appearance in the last six seasons. Denker also carried the ball 14 times for 51 yards and a score. Nate Phillips set an Arizona bowl record for receiving yards in a game with 193. Chase Rettig connected on 16-of-26 passes for 191 yards and two interceptions for the Eagles (7-6), who have lost four straight bowl games. Alex Amidon caught 10 passes for 129 yards to break Pete Mitchell’s career receptions record with 191.
