Clippers sign former BYU forward Davies
Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) – The Los Angeles Clippers have signed former BYU standout Brandon Davies.
Davies went undrafted but was a member of the Clippers’ Summer League team in Las Vegas, averaging 5.8 points and 4.0 rebounds in five games. Clippers coach Doc Rivers said in a statement that Davies’ ability to play multiple positions stood out.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Davies, 22, was a forward at BYU, where he averaged 12.4 points and 6.2 rebounds in four years. He averaged 17.7 points and 8.0 rebounds in his senior season.
As a sophomore, Davies was suspended for violating BYU’s honor code but later reinstated. The Salt Lake Tribune reported at the time that he violated the school’s rule banning premarital sex.
