‘Chrome’ registers workout ahead of Dubai World Cup
Los Alamitos, CA (SportsNetwork.com) – Champion colt California Chrome had another Friday morning workout at Los Alamitos Racecourse as he prepares for the $10 million Dubai World Cup on March 28.
Trained by Art Sherman, “Chrome” covered seven furlongs in 1:23.80 after going six furlongs in 1:10.
Owned by Steve Coburn and Perry Martin, “Chrome” has just one start his year, a second-place finish to Shared Belief in the $500,000 San Antonio Stakes at Santa Anita on Feb. 7. The 2014 Horse of the Year and champion 3-year-old is scheduled to leave for Dubai on Tuesday with Sherman to follow five days later.
Last year’s Kentucky Derby and Preakness champ has nine wins from 17 starts for $4,322,650.
