Carlsson eases to win Challenge event in Kazakhstan
Almaty, Kazakhstan (Sports Network) – Johan Carlsson fired a 5-under 67 on Sunday to cruise to a seven-stroke victory at the Kazakhstan Open.
Carlsson collected his first career win on the European Challenge Tour at 18- under-par 270.
Adrian Otaegui (71), Duncan Stewart (72) and Tyrrell Hatton (72) shared second at Nurtau Golf Club at 11-under. Oliver Wilson (67) and Robert Dinwiddie (69) tied for fifth at 10-under 278.
Carlsson entered the final round with a four-stroke lead and was never tested throughout the day.
The Swede made the turn at 15-under after collecting birdies at the third and sixth, then capped his bogey-free round with gains at the 10th, 12th and 15th to roll to the big win.
