Capitals D Erskine has neck surgery

Arlington, VA (SportsNetwork.com) – The Washington Capitals announced on Wednesday that defenseman John Erskine underwent successful neck surgery.

The procedure, performed by Dr. John Starr at Bethesda Surgical Center, repaired a disc in his neck.

Erskine, in his 13th NHL season and ninth for Washington, has yet to play this year. He was limited to a goal and three assists in 37 games last season.
