Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) – The Vancouver Canucks announced on Tuesday that forward Alex Burrows will miss approximately four weeks with a broken jaw.

Burrows suffered the injury during Sunday’s 3-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes and underwent successful surgery on Monday.

“Alex is a big part of our team and it’s a big loss, but we’ll come together and he’ll be back soon,” said Canucks starting goaltender Roberto Luongo.

The ninth-year pro has recorded just three assists and is a minus-7 in 17 games thus far this season.
