California Chrome top 3-year-old in Future Wager
Louisville, KY (SportsNetwork.com) – The second day of the fourth and final Kentucky Derby Future Wager for the 140th Run for the Roses began with morning line favorite California Chrome back as the top 3-year-old of the 23 listed among the 24 betting interests.
California Chrome, 5-1 in the opening line, is 7-1 as the second day begins. He was 10-1 early on the first day of wagering Thursday.
The mutuel field, 8-1 in the early line, is the overall favorite at 5-1.
Holy Bull Stakes winner Cairo Prince, who will start in Saturday’s Florida Derby, is 11-1 followed by Social Inclusion at 12-1. Social Inclusion was the early favorite on Thursday at 6-1.
Other 3-year-olds gaining backing in the betting are Candy Boy (13-1), Constitution (15-1), Hoppertunity (17-1), Intense Holiday (16-1), Ring Weekend (18-1), Samraat (16-1) and Tapiture (14-1).
The final Future Wager closes Saturday at 6 p.m. ET, prior to the start of the Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park and the Louisiana Derby from Fair Grounds.
