Calgary’s Price, Hughes among CFL’s top players

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) – Calgary Stampeders wide receiver Maurice Price and defensive lineman Charleston Hughes were among those selected as the top players in the CFL for Week 10 of the 2013 season.

Price earned the offensive award after catching five passes for 165 yards with three touchdowns in Calgary’s 37-34 win over Edmonton. He had TD catches of 66, 42 and 33 yards.

Hughes picked up the defensive honor thanks to three sacks and four tackles in the narrow victory. He was also the top defensive player in Week 1 of the season.

Edmonton kick returner Joe Burnett garnered the special teams award after he returned four punts for 91 yards, including a 78-yard return that set up a touchdown.

Montreal linebacker Marc-Olivier Brouillette was chosen as the top Canadian. He collected six tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble that was returned 37 yards for a touchdown by Shea Emry in the Alouettes’ 20-9 win over Toronto.
