Bumgarner named top NL pitcher for August

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – San Francisco Giants left-hander Madison Bumgarner was named the National League Pitcher of the Month on Wednesday.

Bumgarner went 4-1 in six August starts with a 1.57 ERA and 56 strikeouts and just three walks in 46 innings.

He won the award for the first time in May of this year.
