Bulls’ Rose set for surgery on Monday
Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) – Chicago Bulls star guard Derrick Rose is set to undergo surgery Monday to repair a medial meniscus tear in his right knee.
Rose suffered the injury in the Bulls’ 98-95 loss in Portland on Friday. He will be out of action indefinitely and did not travel with Chicago as the club continued its current six-game road trip with Sunday’s 121-82 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
It’s a stroke of bad luck for the 25-year-old Memphis product, who missed all of last season while recovering from a torn ACL in his left knee and subsequent surgery.
In 10 games this season, Rose posted averages of 15.9 points, 4.3 assists and 3.2 rebounds.
