Bucs place WR Williams on IR
Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed starting wide receiver Mike Williams on injured reserve Monday.
Williams had been battling a hamstring injury for a few weeks and the team finally decided to shut him down after it was revealed the hamstring was torn.
The Syracuse product had never missed a game since being drafted by Tampa Bay in 2010 until the injury kept him of the Week 6 contest against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Williams caught 22 passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns in six games for the 0-7 Bucs.
