Bucs place CB Jenkins on IR
Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed cornerback Mike Jenkins on injured reserve Wednesday.
Jenkins missed the entire preseason with a hamstring injury, but a pectoral injury suffered in the season opener against Carolina will end his first season with the Bucs after just one game.
The Bucs signed Jenkins to a one-year contract in March. He spent his first five seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and last year with the Oakland Raiders.
The Bucs waived defensive end Scott Solomon, signed cornerback Crezdon Butler and claimed defensive end Jacquies Smith off waivers from the Buffalo Bills. They added defensive end Adrian Robinson to the practice squad.
Butler played in a career-high 12 games last season with the San Diego Chargers. The Clemson product has appeared in 25 NFL games with Pittsburgh, Arizona, Washington, Buffalo and San Diego.
